WHATEVER HAPPENED TO PAINT-BY-NUMBERS?

DAN ROBBINS KNOWS...he was there. And he is still here...alive, well and working in Chicago. As an aspiring artist, illustrator and graphic designer, his first "real job" started in 1949 when he and an entrepreneur named MAX KLEIN decided that something called "paint by number" might be a good business to get into. So they did. From scratch and literally by hand, they set in motion a do-it-yourself business that became a legend in American cultural history.
